The 49ers on Friday were awarded four compensatory picks in the upcoming NFL draft, giving San Francisco a league-high 12 total selections. Compensatory picks are awarded if a team loses more high-value free agents than they sign in the previous year. Three teams were given the maximum four compensatory picks: the 49ers, Cowboys and Patriots.
