Olympics locals watch: DeMarcus Cousins to make Games debut

What athletes with Sacramento-area connections are up to at the Summer Olympics:

DeMarcus Cousins, Kings, basketball: He will make his Olympic debut Saturday when the United States plays China at 3 p.m.

Joanne Fa’avesi, Sacramento, rugby: The Burbank High School grad and her teammates open play Saturday against Fiji at 9 a.m. and play Colombia at 2 p.m.

Megan Rapinoe, Redding, soccer: The U.S. women face France on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Alex Obert, Loomis, water polo: The Del Oro grad and his teammates open play Saturday against Croatia at 6:20 a.m.
