Alex Obert, Loomis, water polo: The U.S. men lost to Spain 10-9 on Monday. Next: Wednesday vs. France, 7:40 a.m.

Sam Dommer, Folsom, rowing: The U.S. men’s eights boat finished second in its heat Monday and fourth overall. Next: Wednesday’s repechage, 9 a.m.
