The El Paso Chihuahuas roughed up River Cats starter Ty Blach for a 7-1 victory Tuesday night in El Paso, Texas.
Blach gave up six runs and 10 hits in four innings.
El Paso scored twice in the second with help from an error. After Abraham Almonte and Tommy Medica singled with one out, first baseman Adam Duvall mishandled Brett Wallace’s grounder, loading the bases. Austin Hedges doubled in two runs.
The River Cats made it 2-1 in the fourth when Juan Perez singled with two outs and scored on Duvall’s double. But in the bottom half, El Paso struck for four runs with two outs. After Rymer Liriano tripled in a run, Almonte hit a two-run homer to left center. Tommy Medica then doubled and scored on Wallace’s single.
