Sacramento River Cats

River Cats bunch seven singles in six-run fourth

The River Cats had seven singles during a six-run fourth inning Monday night and went on to beat the host Reno Aces 8-4.

Trailing 3-1 after three innings, Sacramento started the fourth inning with consecutive singles by Juan Perez, Jarrett Parker, Ronny Cedeno, John Bowker and Ben Turner to take a 4-3 lead. Skyler Stromsmoe had a two-out RBI single, and Parker drove in the final run of the outburst with a bases-loaded walk.

Every position player had at least one hit in the River Cats’ 14-hit attack.

Turner is 7 for 9 since being promoted from Class-A San Jose last week.

Three Sacramento relief pitchers combined to throw 32/3 shutout innings.
