The River Cats committed three errors that led to four unearned runs in a 6-2 loss to the host Fresno Grizzlies on Tuesday night.
Sacramento went ahead 2-0 after leadoff homers by Darren Ford and Travis Ishikawa in the first and second innings. But Fresno took control in the bottom of the second, when throwing errors by center fielder Ford and second baseman Kevin Frandsen and a passed ball by Trevor Brown – all with two outs – helped the Grizzlies score four runs.
A fielding error by third baseman Adam Duvall led to one Fresno run in the third.
In the sixth, the Grizzlies’ Jon Singleton hit a solo homer, his 15th, which tied Duvall for the Pacific Coast League lead.
