Sacramento River Cats

River Cats beat Fresno to end skid

The River Cats broke a five-game losing streak and won for only the second time in their last 11 games, beating the host Fresno Grizzlies 2-0 Wednesday night.

Four Sacramento pitchers combined on a two-hitter, and Ryan Lollis had three hits and scored both runs.

Nik Turley picked up the win, allowing two hits in six innings.

Lollis led off the third inning with a double, reached third on Kevin Frandsen’s groundout and scored on Jake Buchanan’s wild pitch. In the ninth, Lollis again led off with a double, was sacrificed to third and scored on Adam Duvall’s single.

The River Cats had 10 hits but went 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position.
