River Cats glance: Bees take Game One

• Highlight: The River Cats jumped to two-run lead in the first inning and a one-run lead in the fourth but couldn’t hold on as they dropped the series opener to the Salt Lake Bees on Thursday night at Smith’s Ballpark.

• Hit streak ends: Colin Walsh finished 2 for 4, ending his six at-bat hitting streak for the Cats. He’s hitting .533.

• Turning point: Sacramento took a 6-5 lead in the top of the fourth after they scored three runs on RBI singles from Nick Buss, Andy Parrino, and Nate Freiman. But the Bees scored three runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth to take an 8-6 lead.

• River Cats stars: Buss finished 3 for 5 with two runs and an RBI, Shane Peterson went 3 for 5 with an RBI and a double, and Freiman drove in his league-leading 51st run.
