Elk Grove winter warming center to stay open through Thursday as wet winter weather persists
Elk Grove’s overnight warming location at United Methodist Church will stay open through Thursday as wet and windy winter weather continues to blow through the Sacramento region.
The warming location at the church, 8966 Elk Grove Blvd., in the city’s Old Town, is open 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. for adults 18 and older who are unhoused or who live in homes without adequate heat. Pets are not permitted at the site. Families with children will be referred to a motel voucher program coordinated by the Elk Grove Homeless Assistance Resource Team.
The Elk Grove Overnight Warming Location program is a cooperative of city of Elk Grove, Elk Grove Police, places of worship and groups assisting the city’s homeless population. The locations will open through April.
Visit elkgrovecity.org/owl for more information about the program or to sign up to receive notifications whenever an overnight warming location is scheduled to open.
