Flash bangs and SWAT team wake Elk Grove neighborhood as police raid home

Police tape at crime scene

Armed Elk Grove SWAT officers swarmed a home Friday that neighbors say had long been a trouble spot.

Neighbors heard the explosion of flash bangs just before 7 a.m. Friday outside the house in the 9400 block of Forest Vista Way between Foulks Ranch Drive and Contente Way, a block from Foulks Ranch Elementary School.

Police surrounded the house before pulling three men out of the home, handcuffed and in their bed clothes, and lining them up alongside the SWAT vehicle.

Residents on this street have long complained to police about the home and activity there.

“It’s definitely not the first time police have been called,” said resident Brent Thomas, who has lived in the neighborhood since the early 1990s. “The house has been a problem.”

Elk Grove Police Sgt. Jason Jimenez, a department spokesman, did not disclose details of the operation or whether police made any arrests, saying only that SWAT teams were serving a search warrant “related to an ongoing and active investigation.”
