Watch for these Elk Grove road closures during city’s Independence Day festivities

Numerous Elk Grove street closures and detours will be in effect Tuesday for Independence Day festivities at Elk Grove Regional Park.

Road closures around the park, 9950 Elk Grove Florin Road, site of the city’s Elk Grove Salutes the Red, White & Blue event 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., will be in place 5 p.m. to midnight for the evening fireworks display, with traffic detours at various locations across the city:

Southbound East Stockton Boulevard at Valley Oak Lane and northbound East Stockton Boulevard at Elk Grove Florin Road will be closed from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Southbound West Stockton Blvd at Laguna Grove Boulevard; northbound Promenade/West Stockton Boulevard at Kyler Road and Whitelock Parkway at West Stockton Boulevard will be closed 6 p.m. to midnight.

Southbound East Stockton Boulevard at the northbound Highway 99 Elk Grove Boulevard off-ramp and southbound Elk Grove-Florin Road at Elk Grove Boulevard will be closed 8 p.m. to midnight.

Northbound East Stockton Boulevard from Grant Line Road will be closed 9 p.m. to midnight.

A number of detours will be in effect from 8:30 p.m. to midnight:

Neighborhood traffic east of Elk Grove Regional Park will be directed onto northbound Elk Grove-Florin Road towards Elk Grove Boulevard (Right turn only).

Traffic exiting the east side of Elk Grove Regional Park will be directed onto southbound Elk Grove-Florin Road (Right turn only) onto southbound East Stockton Boulevard (Left turn only). Motorists can then proceed onto Grant Line Road.

Traffic exiting the west side of Elk Grove Regional Park and westbound on Valley Oak Lane will be directed onto northbound East Stockton Boulevard (Right turn only).

Traffic eastbound on Valley Oak Lane will be directed onto northbound Emerald Oak Drive.

Traffic exiting from the area of Hampton Oaks Drive, Union Park Way, or Elkmont Drive will be directed onto southbound East Stockton Boulevard.

Admission is free but parking is $10 per vehicle. No in/out parking privileges at the park are allowed after 3 p.m.
