A new chocolate store opened Monday in Folsom, bringing a new option for sweet-treat cravings.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory opened a new store Monday at Palladio, 250 Palladio Parkway, Suite 1335, according to an Instagram post, expanding into the major shopping center.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which also has stores in Old Sacramento and the Folsom Premium Outlets, was founded in the early 1980s in Durango, Colorado, according to the company’s website. The chain’s flagship store is still in Durango.

Most Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory stores showcase chocolate-making demonstrations, according to the company website, and many locations feature a “modern yet classic design.”

Shoppers can find items ranging from caramel apples to fudge at most stores, according to the website. There are usually assortments of fruits, nuts, pretzels and cookies hand-dipped in melted chocolate.

The company says its cocoa is UTZ/Rainforest Alliance-certified and Fair Trade Certified.

Palladio is home to stores including Pretty Sweet, Dave & Buster’s, The Melt, Yard House and Whole Foods Market, according to its website.

Incoming retailers include Instaphysique, Journey to the Dumpling and Yoga Six, according to the directory. Recent openings include the AC Hotel by Marriott and Loft.
