Man fatally stabbed after argument in Rancho Cordova, deputies say

A man died early Sunday morning in Rancho Cordova following an argument, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of an argument near the intersection of El Mercado and Chettenham drives, the sheriff’s office said.

When deputies arrived, they found two injured adult men. Firefighters responded to provide medical aid.

One man, who had suffered a stab wound, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The second man suffered a cut to the head and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators said several other people were in the area at the time of the incident and will be interviewed.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators and Homicide Unit are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s non-emergency line at (916) 874-5115.
