See Rocklin police help property owners clean up 18 homeless camps near Interstate 80
The Rocklin Police Department spent the past few weeks helping property owners clean up 18 homeless camps and advising people living there illegally that they’re trespassing. But the officers also helped them with Placer County resources for the homeless.
Police officials on Tuesday announced in a Facebook post the results of efforts by the department’s Homeless Outreach Team, which began canvassing the greenbelt area three weeks ago.
The team canvassed the area between China Garden Road and Interstate 80, just east of Highway 65, as part of an outreach effort, according to police. The officers found homeless camps and people living there. The officers gave the people information about county resources that can help them.
The following week, officers helped greenbelt area property owners mark illegal homeless camps for removal. The officers also informed the homeless people living there that they were trespassing.
On Friday, officers helped the greenbelt area property owners with the homeless camp removals. Officers issued two citations, and two people were provided resources for the homeless, according to Rocklin police.
Officials said a company cleaned up the remains of 18 homeless camps in the area.
