It’s craft beer week in Roseville! Here’s where you can find local, craft brews

It’s craft beer week in Roseville!

In recognition of the city’s breweries, the Roseville City Council adopted a proclamation making it Craft Beer Week to “celebrate the success of our growing craft brewery scene.”

So in case you’re looking for a craft brew — I mean, who isn’t? It’s too hot already — here’s where you can find beer in and around Roseville through the weekend.

The Monk’s Cellar: Roseville’s most popular brewery is located in its revitalized downtown building on Vernon Street. The Monk’s Cellar has its own in-house brewery that has produced award-winning beers. In the 2022 California Commercial Craft Beer Competition, Monk’s Cellar won four medals and place third from brewery of the year. (240 Vernon St.)

Moksa Brewing Co.: A short drive down Pacific Street across the Rocklin line, you’ll find Moksa. Named after a Hindu term for emancipation, Moksa produces 24 beers in-house such as its Rocklin Lager, Tropic of Placer and Pacific Street IPA. (5860 Pacific St.)

Kathrin’s Biergarten: Also in Rocklin, Kathrin’s Biergarten offers an authentic German dining experience and has a lengthy and excellent beer list. Owned by German immigrant, Kathrin Grosse, the biergarten boasts lots of outdoor seating and unique menu. It’s a local favorite. (4810 Granite Drive, Suite A1)

Mindscape Fermentations: Located off Sierra College Boulevard in Rocklin, Mindscape Fermentations is the creation of three women who wanted to “put a spin on the craft beer industry,” according to their website. They serve a variety of beers including Imperial Stout, IPAs, sour beer and pale ale. Mindscape Fermentations also specializes in hard kombucha. (5424 Crossings Drive, Suite 105)

Loomis Basin Brewing: Also known locally as LBB, Loomis Basin Brewing is one of the crown jewels of Loomis. A short 10 minute drive from Roseville, LBB brews dozens of craft beers. You can visit their tasting room on Swetzer Road or find their brews at their very popular barbeque restaurant in downtown Loomis, LBB Gastropub. (3277 Swetzer Road)

Goathouse: Located on Wise Road in Lincoln, about a 15 minute drive from Roseville, you can sample a variety of interesting craft brew combinations in a converted barn. Goathouse uses locally sourced ingredients to make its popular Racked with Kilt Scotch Ale, My Precious Pale Ale and That’s Gold Jerry, Gold! IPA. (600 Wise Road)

Dueling Dogs: Take a trip to scenic, rural Lincoln and enjoy a pint at Dueling Dogs, where you can find small-batch craft beer, mead and ciders. They’re know for their unique Mandarin Madness Witbier, which pays homage to the mandarins grown in south Placer County. Dueling Dogs is family-owned and operated. (3030 Barrett Park Lane)
