Roadway fatality

One man is dead and another seriously injured after an SUV collided with two motorcyclists Tuesday afternoon in Roseville, the Roseville Police Department said.

Officers responded to the area near Sunrise Avenue and Cirby Way around 4:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a traffic collision.

When they arrived, they found two motorcyclists had collided with the vehicle, a Ford Bronco. Aerial footage from KCRA showed the Bronco with front, rear and driver-side damage, as well as the motorcycles down in the roadway.

One of the motorcyclists was pronounced dead at the scene. The second motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with major injuries, police said. Police did not give any information about the driver of the SUV.

The roadway remained closed for several hours as police investigated and cleared the scene. It reopened shortly after 9 p.m.

Police said Tuesday evening that the investigation would “continue over the coming weeks.”
