A beloved Roseville tradition will kick off this week, bringing holiday cheer to families throughout the city.

City volunteers and members of the Roseville police and fire departments will tour the city in decorated vehicles as part of the city’s annual Neighborhood Santa event, and viewers will even have a chance to spot Santa Claus in his sleigh.

“Neighborhood Santa is one of our community’s favorite holiday traditions,” said Roseville Parks, Recreation and Libraries Supervisor Alisha Moyer, who heads the event. “Families come out and line the streets to see Santa and his elves make their way through different Roseville neighborhoods each night. There’s a feeling of excitement and celebration that brings neighbors together, creating a sense of community and holiday spirit.”

The annual Christmas-season event will begin in the Blue Oaks neighborhood 6 p.m. Tuesday and continue through the Maidu and South Cirby neighborhoods, according to the city. On Wednesday, Santa can be found winding through Highland Reserve and Fiddyment Farm. And on Thursday, families in the Woodcreek Oaks, Roseville Heights and Los Cerritos neighborhoods will have a chance to glimpse Santa, too.

Neighborhood Santa will continue each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening through Dec. 14. Maps of each route are available on the city’s website.
