A Sacramento-based ballet organization is expanding to Roseville, taking over a longtime local dance studio as its owner prepares to retire.

Roseville’s Northern California Dance Conservatory, at 920 Reserve Drive, Suite 110, will rebrand after owner Jen Bradford retires.

School of Sacramento Ballet Executive Director Kiera Anderson said Bradford approached the organization about taking over the location.

“We at the ballet have been excited to expand our offerings and to reach more people with dance,” she said. “That’s part of our mission so when this opportunity came forward, it just seemed like the perfect fit.”

Bradford said she is excited to see Sacramento Ballet build on the program’s legacy.

“With deep gratitude and a full heart, I am excited to see Sacramento Ballet carry this legacy forward, creating new opportunities for future generations of dancers and for our community as a whole,” she said.

Anderson said the organization is in the early stages of planning but hopes to create something similar to its Sacramento campus, with a slightly more contemporary focus that reflects the current teachings at the Northern California Dance Conservatory.

“What I envision is maintaining that part of the identity of the studio so that we can serve our students with many different approaches, techniques and styles,” she said.

The Roseville location is expected to roll out a class schedule in the fall. The program will serve pre-professional students ages 12 to 18, as well as younger dancers under 12.
