Placer Hills merger adds advanced life support resources in Newcastle
The Newcastle Fire Protection District has officially merged with the Placer Hills Fire Protection District, officials announced in a July 2 news release.
The reorganized district now serves about 50 square miles and more than 18,000 residents in Placer County, according to the fire district.
As part of the merger, Station 41 in Newcastle has added new resources to provide advanced life support services.
Fire officials said that while the district’s name has changed, its commitment to protecting the Newcastle community remains the same.
“The Placer Hills Fire Protect District is honored to carry forward the legacy of the Newcastle Fire Protection District while building upon it through regional cooperation, professional service, and a continued commitment to excellence,” the Placer Hills Fire Protection District said in a news release.
