Man arrested twice by Davis police on suspicion of vandalism, arson on same road

Davis police say they arrested a man last week they said was involved with two separate incidents at a Davis research facility.

Police arrested Franklin Anthony Christopher, age 40, in the parking lot of the USDA Forest Service Research station on the 1700 block of Research Park Drive on Wednesday evening. Davis Police Department spokesman Lt. Arturo Camacho said surveillance footage showed him attempting to vandalize a car.

After arresting Christopher, officers connected him with an incident of arson that ignited two small fires earlier in the day on the 1000 block of Research Park Drive. They arrested him again, while he was still in jail, Camacho said.

Christopher is charged with vandalism, violation of parole and setting fire to a structure. He remains in Yolo County’s Monroe Detention Center without bail.
