Gas leak forces morning evacuation of Davis High School, officials say

Breaking News

Davis Senior High School was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a gas leak in a closet, which has been repaired.

“All DSHS students are safe and back with their teachers in class,” Davis Joint Unified School District wrote in a statement posted to social media shortly after 11:45 a.m. “PG&E and the Davis Fire Department discovered a gas leak in a utilities closet on campus. The leak has been repaired.”

The campus was evacuated around 10 a.m. due to what school district officials initially called a “potential” gas leak, later confirmed by the Fire Department and utility personnel from Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

No injuries have been reported.
