Where do I purchase the e ‐ Edition for the iPad and how much does it cost?
You have two subscription options:
Sacramento Bee Digital only subscription
Sacramento Bee iTunes subscription
Can I try the app for free before making a purchase?
- Go to the iTunes App Store
- Download the app; there is no cost.
- Open the app and you will see a stack of newspapers.
- Go to the last newspaper in the stack (the one with a blue header).
- Tap the newspaper and it will open.
- The iPad features such as navigation, article enlarging, swiping and tapping will work on the preview issue.
My iTunes subscription has locked me out. How can I restore my subscription?
- Turn on your iPad.
- Tap the Sac Bee e‐Edition icon on your iPad screen.
- In the dialog box that appears, tap "See My Options."
- In the next dialog box, tap "Existing iOS Subscriber."
- You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID, which you should do.
- In the "Verification" dialog box that appears, tap "Dismiss."
- Today's edition of The Bee will begin to download.
My app seems to be defective. How can I delete it?
- Tap and hold the app until it jiggles.
- Tap the X on the app.
- Press the Home button.
- Go to the App store and download the app again.
- Wait for the app to download, then open it from the Home screen.
How can I print an article?
- Double tap on the article you want to print.
- Tap the send/print icon in the upper right.
- Tap "Share via Mail" and send to a printer or computer with a printer connection.
How can I print the crossword puzzle?
- Open The Sacramento Bee iPad Edition app.
- Go to the puzzle or image you want to capture.
- Position the puzzle on your iPad screen to view full screen.
- Press and hold the "Power" button and the “Home” button at the same time (your screen will flash).
- Go to "Photos" and locate the screen shot.
- Tap the icon for sending and printing (located in the lower left corner of the photo).
- Select your wireless printer and tap print.
How can I get rid of the old newspapers stored on my iPad?
- Turn on your iPad.
- Tap the "Settings" icon on your screen.
- Scroll down to the Sac Bee “e-Edition” app and tap on it.
- Tap "Enable sign out" so that it is turned on.
- Press the home button.
- Open the e-Edition app and go to the "Recent Issues" page (the page that shows the seven newspapers).
- On the "Recent Issues" page, tap on the bottom left corner (there is nothing to tap on, just tap the corner)
- On the "Clear Cache?" dialog box that appears, tap Clear.
- Your app will automatically close indicating your cache has been cleared.

Can I read the newspaper in different languages?
I have an iTunes subscription and I want to turn off auto‐renew. How can I do that?
- Turn on your iPad.
- Tap the "Settings" icon on your screen.
- Tap "iTunes & App Stores" (along left side of Settings screen).
- Tap the button that has your Apple ID.
- Tap "View Apple ID" in the dialog box that appears (you might be prompted to enter
- your Apple ID password).
- In the "Account" popup window, look for "Subscriptions" and tap the "Manage" button.
- Tap "The Sacramento Bee for the iPad" subscription.
- Turn auto‐renew off and tap "Done" when you are finished.

- In the subject drop down menu, select "Report an e‐Edition issue"
- Complete and submit the form.
