Savor the flavors at Smorgasburg Miami’s Asian Street Food Festival this weekend
Mark your calendars and get your plans in order! Smorgasburg Miami is back with another highly anticipated event from Friday, May 26th through Sunday, May 28th. In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the largest outdoor food market is transforming into an Asian outdoor street food market.
Together with Michelin Bib Gourmand winner Ani Meinhold of Phuc Yea and lifestyle journalist and food consultant Cheryl Tiu of Cross Cultures, Smorgasburg Miami will host their annual celebration of AAPI month.
With live performances, interactive games, and, of course, street food and desserts from nations like India, Burma, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, China, and more, the weekend celebrations will honor Asian and Pacific Islander culture and art. Smorgasburg Miami will be enlivened with red lanterns, paper umbrellas, origami cranes, and Indian ornaments reminiscent of an outdoor Asian street-food market.
Hulu dancers, Fire Warrior dancers, and Hawaiian ukulele music will all be a part of Polynesian Proud Production’s authentic Aloha Polynesian performance. In addition to cooking demonstrations by Smorgasburg Miami vendor Chou:Tu and food personality Wok Star Eleanor Hoh. Additionally, Ms Dans Chinese will be teaching calligraphy and art to both children and adults, so the activities are non stop.
Smorgasburg’s own vendors will highlight unique dishes showcasing various Asian cuisines that are only available at this event on the culinary front. Yen’s Kitchen, Kaminari Ramen, Palm Beach Meats, Ahmay’s Cuisine, Sushi by Chef Norlan, Meatless in Miami, Lutong Pinoy, Phuc Yea, and Indianapolis’ Salamat Cookies are just a few of the guest vendors they’ll be hosting from South Florida and everywhere in between.
