Antique lovers rejoice: Transcontinental railroad antique to be displayed at Grass Valley Old West Show
Dust off your 10-gallon hat and pack up your grandma’s priceless collectables: The Grass Valley Old West Show will be offering visitors a trip through American history May 10 and 11.
The show, which is dedicated to American West antiques, will have memorabilia exhibits focused on the “old west,” according to its website, along with free appraisals.
Photographs, coins, furniture, military equipment and jewelry will all be on display at the show, according to a news release from Sacramento auction house Witherell’s, which has partnered with the show organizers to help with appraisals.
“Our appraisals are not limited to western,” Brian Witherell said in a news release Friday. “We will be on hand to evaluate all the primary categories we represent at auction.”
The show falls on the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. A one-of-a-kind commemorative locket attached to a tiny golden spike made from the same California gold used for the Golden Spike will be on display in a free special viewing from noon to 5 p.m. May 9.
