Garth Brooks is playing a drive-in concert across the US. Here’s how to get tickets

Country music legend Garth Brooks hopes to pack drive-in movie theaters throughout the country with a one-night-only event later this month.

Brooks announced Thursday on “Good Morning America” he will be hosting a concert that will be broadcast at more than 300 drive-ins in North America. The event will take place June 27 and tickets go on sale June 19.

“They’re going to run it just like a regular concert, but this is going to be all over North America, one night only,” Books said on the morning show. “We are excited because this is a reason to get out of the house, but at the same time you get to follow all the COVID rules from every individual state and you get to have fun and stay within the guidelines of social distancing ... we’re calling it ‘social distancing partying.’”

For a full list of the venues where the Brooks concert will be playing, visit EncoreLive.com. Tickets will be sold at ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks.

Tickets are $100 per vehicle and the event will take place rain or shine, Encore Live states. The concert showings will have “CDC-approved safety measures and a family-friendly environment,” the production company said.

It’s being billed as “the largest ever one-night show to play at outdoor theaters across the United States and Canada,” The Tennessean reported.

Brooks’ three-year Stadium Tour was halted earlier this spring as the coronavirus put a stop to most musicians’ tours, Taste of Country reported.

He said on “Good Morning America” he hopes people “are ready for a fun experience.”

“The cool thing is drive-ins aren’t like they were when we were kids,” he said. “We had the speaker that you put on the window, now just tune right into your own car radio. You can blast it and blare it as loud as you want — windows up, windows down, sing along. This is a perfect way for us to still get to play music and still follow all the rules that we’re under right now.”
