These California cities — Sacramento included — rank high for ‘lasting love,’ study says

If you’re spending Valentine’s Day alone in Sacramento, love may be just around the corner.

After ranking near the bottom of a dating satisfaction study twice in less than a one-year span, the region ranked among the “Top 25 best cities for lasting love,” in a new Finance Buzz study.

The “City of Trees” destination ranked No. 23, beating out cities like Raleigh, North Carolina, and Detroit, Michigan.

Fifty of the U.S.’ largest cites were pitted against one another using data, statistics and eight different metrics: percentage of married people, median duration of active marriages, percentage of divorced people, percentage of households where an unmarried couple live together, number of same-sex couples per 1,000 households and the number of romantic restaurants and wedding venues per capita and more.

St. Louis took the top spot as the “best city for lasting love.” Minneapolis ranked No. 2 and Boston ranked No. 3.

The other California cities that made the list: San Francisco at No. 10 and Riverside at No. 11.

Collected in January, data for each city was put into a formula that assigned a 0-5 score to each city for every factor, according to the study. Individual factor scores were then weighed and added together to get a final score on a 0-100 scale. For the analysis, all factors were given a uniform weight of 2.5.

Here’s what to know about the California cities that ranked in the “Top 25 best cities for lasting love,” according to Fiance Buzz:
