Sacramento weekend guide: A Kings game, local music festival, Love Market or brunch

For those who had a groggy start to the week after daylight saving time began on Sunday, this weekend’s for sleeping and resting. But since it’s the first weekend where we all get an extra hour of daylight and Sunday is the first day of spring, why not enjoy the outdoors for a bit?

Forecasts show Sacramento will have a mostly sunny, warm Friday and a chilly Saturday with highs at 60 degrees and a 62% chance of rain. The sun will reappear Sunday with highs around 63 degrees.

From a production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” to a local music festival, the Sacramento area has events this weekend where you can relax and have fun.

Find some treasures at the Great Junk Hunt

Roebbelen Event Center at The Grounds, 700 Event Center Dr., Roseville

At the Great Junk Hunt, you can find vintage, handmade and re-purposed goods from a variety of vendors. There will also be cocktails and music.

Tickets start at $15 for early bird entry on Friday. The market is also open this Saturday. You can purchase tickets online.

See ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’

Woodland Opera House, 340 Second St., Woodland

The Woodland Opera House Guild is presenting The Hunchback of Notre Dame Friday through Saturday until Apr. 3.

Tickets to the classic musical is $25 for adults, $23 for people 62 years and older and $12 for kids under 17. You can purchase tickets online.

Watch Oscar-nominated short films at the Crest Theatre

Crest Theatre, 1013 K St., Sacramento

The Crest Theatre is showcasing Oscar-nominated animated short films this Saturday. You and your family can watch “Robin Robin,” “Boxballet,” “Affairs of the Art,” “Bestia” or “The Windshield Wiper.”

Enjoy local art, food and music at the first Sacramento Infinity Festival

Two Rivers Cider, 4311 Attawa Way, Sacramento

Two Rivers Cider is hosting its first Sacramento Infinity Festival, celebrating local art, food and music.

The festival features three different stages with musicians playing folk-rock, garage rock, country and rockabilly. There’ll be food by Fusion Alley, Chavious Pizza and Jane Dough Sweets, and local artists.

Admission is free but you can donate $10 to benefit Sacramento’s MusicLandria, a non-profit musical instrument library.

Every second Saturday of the month, you can find the free community-based Saturday Love Market at 1up Retro Clothing. The market offers culinary experiences, live art, clothes vendors and music.

Pablo Rivas, a chef of eight years from the Bay area, is serving up a Spring Equinox Brunch at a secret location, revealed only to those that register online.

The brunch includes a pre-fix Central American-inspired three-course menu, featuring spring salad, oysters and shiitake shooter, smoked vegetables and cochinita (pulled pork). There are vegan and non-vegan options.
