Lavender Heights nightclub in midtown Sacramento listed for sale at $2.75 million
In the heart of midtown Sacramento’s Lavender Heights neighborhood, Faces Nightclub was listed for sale by Bay Area-based real estate investment firm Global I.N. Inc. at $2.75 million Friday.
Owner Terry Sidie, 77, said he is now selling the dance club in part because he prefers to not stay up late and drink anymore. The nightclub stays open until 2 a.m. every day of the week.
Sidie opened up his club nearly 38 years ago as a space for gay people to gather. The club, which features three dance rooms, 15 bars, a VIP lounge and outdoor pool, is located in Lavender Heights — a historic neighborhood for bars and businesses serving Sacramento’s LGBTQ community.
“I am very proud of Faces,” the founder said. “For years it was primarily gay, and now gay people and straight people and so many people get along so well there.”
However, the nightclub owner currently does plan to retire. Before opening Faces, he managed another bar called Bojangles.
“I love what I do, and I love doing it,” he said.
He added that the new owner of the club will only be buying the business and will still have to pay rent for his building on 2000 K Street.
