You can help paint murals across Sacramento on these 4 days. Here’s when and where
The city of Sacramento’s Office of Arts and Culture is adding more splashes of color to the city’s outdoor public gallery.
Sacramento streets are already doused with hundreds of colorful murals, decorating walls and businesses. Under the new “Community Murals Sacramento” program, 10 more murals will be painted across the city — with four of them painted with the help of residents.
Thirty-nine local artists were selected to paint the murals, at various locations throughout Sacramento, including Del Paso Boulevard and Arroyo Vista Drive.
According to a news release from the city, the artists partnered with local schools, neighborhood associations, places of worship and residents to create a mural that embodies the community’s values.
In May and June, community members can come to four different locations and help finish painting the last four murals.
Residents don’t need to have art experience to join in on the fun; and supplies will be provided on-site. The family-friendly events will also feature food trucks, live music, vendors and activities.
