For Star Wars enthusiasts, May 4 marks the unofficial holiday celebrating the infamous, space opera film series that first came out in 1977.

A common phrase said on the holiday each year is “May the Fourth be with you,” — a pun from the franchise’s signature phrase “may the Force be with you.”

Here are some events in Sacramento where you can celebrate the informal holiday with fellow Star Wars fanatics:

Jungle Bird

2516 J St., Sacramento

Jungle Bird, a tiki bar located in midtown Sacramento, is selling Star Wars-themed drinks from May 3 through May 8 in honor of the celebration. Most beverages from this year’s menu, which include “The Force Welding Foundling” and “The Jedi Bird,” are served in commemorative, Star Wars themed tiki mugs that are on sale for $25 each.

The bar highly recommends interested patrons book reservations for its annual event.

Crest Theatre

1013 K St., Sacramento

Sacramento’s historical Crest Theatre will be playing the first film of the franchise, “Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope” at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Right before the screening, select actors from the original movie will be answering fans’ questions in a panel discussion organized by the theater.

General admission tickets are $25. VIP tickets, which include a meet and greet with the actors before the panel and priority seating, are $40. Tickets are available online.

Fairytale Town

3901 Land Park Dr., Sacramento

The storybook themed park is celebrating the holiday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Star Wars costume characters as well as a themed craft activity and game.

Admission to the park for nonmembers is $7 for adults and children ages 2 years and over.

Torch Club trivia night

904 15th St., Sacramento

The cocktail and blues bar in downtown Sacramento is hosting a Star Wars trivia night starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Live music begins at 9 p.m. with the local band, Burning Daylight People. There is a $5 cover charge to enter the bar.

Stage Nine Entertainment

102 K St., Sacramento

Stage Nine Entertainment is holding a Star Wars themed weekend at its collectibles store located near the Old Sacramento Waterfront. The celebration features artist Monte Moore, who specializes in paintings from the Star Wars television series “The Mandalorian.” He will be signing and creating personal sketches for paying customers on May 7 and 8.

There will also be a Prize Wheel for customers to spin and receive special discounts during the weekend. Interested customers are invited to dress in Star Wars themed attire. The celebration starts at 11 a.m. on both days, ending at 5 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
