Compared to other cities in the United States, you might find more things to do in Sacramento, a new study found.

WalletHub recently released its “2022’s Best & Worst Cities for Recreation” list, ranking cities based on their recreational opportunities. It compared a sample of 100 cities based on entertainment and recreational centers, costs, quality of parks and weather.

Using a weighted ranking, they looked at several factors including the number of attractions, music venues and coffee and tea shops. They also considered hiking trails, walk scores, theaters, restaurants and park playgrounds.

Sacramento landed at No. 15, making it the third California city to top the list. San Diego is No. 6 and San Francisco follows at No. 11.

Coming after Sacramento at No. 16 is Los Angeles, followed by Bakersfield, No. 45; Stockton, No. 46; Irvine, No. 49 and Anaheim No. 55. A total of 17 California cities made the list with Chula Vista capping it at No. 99.

The study also found that costs for activities is one of the highest in California.

Sacramento tops the list for highest average food prices and four other California cities — Fremont, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Long Beach — have the highest movie costs.

Anaheim, San Bernardino, Long Beach, Santa Ana and Irvine tied at 94 for the highest bowling costs.
