Cirque du Soleil returns to West Sacramento under the big top with its iconic show “Alegría,” which opens Thursday, July 28. The show runs through Aug. 28.

The production, which premiered in 1994 and was re-imagined in 2019, tells the story of a youth movement that wants to bring change to established order in a fictional kingdom.

The troupe last visited Sacramento in January 2020, just before the start of the coronavirus pandemic, with its show “Amaluna.”

Tickets can be purchased on Cirque du Soleil’s website.
