With Sky River open, see which Sacramento region tribal casino is closest to your home

The landscape of gambling in the Sacramento region has forever changed with the opening of Sky River Casino in Elk Grove, positioned with easy freeway access off Highway 99.

A Bee analysis of driving times based on the region’s road network shows that the newest tribal casino is now also the closest gambling spot for most of the city of Sacramento. Sky River’s reach also includes all of West Sacramento, and parts of Arden Arcade, Davis and Rancho Cordova.

North Natomas and Carmichael residents will find Thunder Valley in Roseville slightly closer. Eastern Rancho Cordova, Gold River and Folsom will find that Red Hawk is the shorter drive.

Which Sacramento-area tribal casino is closest?

This interactive map divides the Sacramento region – and beyond – into the areas closest by car, based on the regional road network, for each casino. Click or touch a shaded area to see its closest casino, or open the key at bottom left. Each regional casino is represented by a black dot. Areas that aren't shaded are more than a one-hour drive from the nearest casino, or served by casinos not included in our analysis.
