See kids play with Legos at Brick Fest in Sacramento
By Bee staff
Thousands of kids and adults joined a block party in downtown Sacramento over the weekend.
They were there for Lego Brick Fest Live, a celebration of the legendary interlocking plastic building blocks, at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.
The event featured Lego racing, a large pit of bricks, collaborative building projects including a Lego mural and an appearance by Manny Garcia, a contestant from the first season of the Lego Masters reality competition television series. About 5,000 people attended and more than 1 million Lego bricks were used, according to event organizers.
“My favorite thing to build is the tall skyscraper,” said Louis Kemp V, 12. “It was very hard to build. Even other people are recording it.”
