Celebrate the tomato
The second annual Sacratomato Week kicks off Monday and continues through July 25 with a concluding free festival 4-8 p.m. on the grounds of Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, 2701 L St., Sacramento.
The festival includes a salsa-making competition and a tomato-tasting garden.
Among the weekday highlights will be tomato-themed menu items at restaurants in midtown’s Sutter District and the “Twisted Sacratomato Salon,” a gathering of gamers, artists and trivia buffs 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Crocker Art Museum, 216 O St., Sacramento.
Free for museum members or with general admission ($5-$10); crockerartmuseum.org.
