The CW network in Sacramento will change stations in the fall.

Starting Sept. 1, the television network will move from KMAX-TV (Ch. 31), to KQCA-TV (Ch. 58), currently branded as My58.

Ariel Roblin, president and general manager of KCRA and KQCA, said that the CW network is a “great partner” for Hearst Communications, which owns the stations and 27 others nationwide.

“They offer quality and complementary programming for KQCA,” Roblin said.

Deborah Collura, vice president and general manager of KOVR-TV (Ch. 13) and KMAX, which are CBS owned-and-operating stations, said Tuesday that its parent company, Paramount, would be announcing its programming schedule “in the very near future.”

The change on the dial was first reported by The Desk, a website on media and technology by journalist Matthew Keys. Keys noted the shift was also announced by CW’s majority owner, Nexstar Media Group.

Nexstar previously said seven of its stations including San Francisco (KRON-TV), Philadelphia and Tampa would also be picking up the CW. Nexstar also owns Sacramento-based KTXL-TV (Ch. 40), which will retain its Fox affiliation.

It’s not known what channel in the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto market MyNetworkTV, which is owned by Fox Corp. and being carried on Ch. 58 through this month, will move.

The CW network airs LIV Golf, popular shows like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and “The Flash,” and will air auto racing events from the NASCAR Xfinity Series beginning in 2025.
