Pop singer Madonna is coming to Sacramento next year, bringing her rescheduled Celebration Tour to Golden 1 Center downtown.

The seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist was hospitalized this summer for a bacterial infection that postponed the start of 78-stop trip. The North American leg starts Dec. 13 in New York and tickets purchased for old dates will be accepted, according to Live Nation.

When the global tour was first announced in January, it didn’t include a stop in Sacramento.

The rescheduled event includes five shows in California, starting in the capital city in February, followed by back-to-back shows in San Francisco before heading south to Inglewood and Palm Desert.

Concertgoers should expect to hear four decades of popular hits from the artist as she pays thanks to New York, where her singing career began.

The original tour was scheduled from July 15 to Oct. 8. Shows will officially kick off Oct. 14 with four back-to-back concerts in London.
