Grammy Award-winning rapper Tyler, the Creator announces Sacramento stop on new tour

Two-time Grammy Award-winning artist Tyler, the Creator announced his 64-show world tour next year for his forthcoming seventh studio album, “Chromakopia,” that will be released Monday. It will include a stop in Sacramento, the second visit for the popular artist.

The rapper and record producer, born as Tyler Okonma, begins his world tour in February. It includes a stop at the Golden 1 Center on Feb. 23. His tour will feature special guests Lil Yachty and Paris Texas.

Tickets go on sale for the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, on Ticketmaster. Pre-sale for American Express cardholders begins Tuesday.

“Chromakopia” is his first album since his “Call Me If You Get Lost” record in 2021. During his Call Me tour in 2022, the Los Angeles native shared with a Sacramento crowd how he used to live in Elk Grove for six months. He briefly attended Elk Grove High School.

Tyler, the Creator has been back in the booth getting busy, delivering his alternative hip-hop style. Last week, he released a single from the album called “St. Chroma.”

Tyler recently released another single Monday ahead of his album release. The single, called “Noid,” talks about the paranoia that has come with all of his success over the years. He opens the songs with lyrics that express his uneasiness and desire for a break from the whirlwind lifestyle.

“Things are out of order, look and look around, I’m not sure of. Pair of paranoia, no,” he melodically raps in a futuristic voice. “I can feel it in my aura, living between cameras and recorders. I want peace but can’t afford ya.”

Tyler, the Creator has been busy lately.

He announced on X, formerly Twitter, that he’ll be hosting his listening party for his fans at 8 p.m. Sunday at the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team in Inglewood.

“Los Angeles I’m playing my album in full for you at the Intuit Dome. I will not be performing, I will be standing in the middle of the venue lip-syncing to the new sounds,” Tyler said.

It is also the 10th anniversary of his own Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, an annual music festival and fair held in Los Angeles.

This year’s two-day event will be Nov. 16 and 17 at Dodger Stadium. Festival goers can join a waitlist for tickets at CampFlogGnaw.com.

In addition to Sacramento and San Francisco’s Chase Center, next year’s 64-show world tour will feature stops in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Oregon and Canada.

Other performers scheduled to appear in Sacramento at Golden 1 Center in 2025 include Mary J. Blige, Disturbed, Kelsea Ballerini, Justin Timberlake, Alejandro Fernández and Sacramento’s own Deftones.
