Celebrate Oktoberfest 2025 around Sacramento with German food, beer and culture
What started more than two centuries ago as a royal wedding celebration in Bavaria now fuels a monthlong toast to German beer, bratwurst and culture across the Sacramento region.
Oktoberfest festivals are back in full swing, bringing steins, sausages and lederhosen to venues from midtown Sacramento to the Sierra foothills.
There are many Oktoberfest festivals occurring locally in the Sacramento-area and neighboring regions. Many events are for ages 21 and older. Be sure to check each event for age requirements.
Here’s where you can partake in the cultural German beer festivals:
Urban Roots, 1322 V St., in Sacramento’s midtown neighborhood is currently hosting its Oktoberfest this year, which began Sept. 19. The event continues through Oct. 5, offering special food items celebrating Bavarian sausages: knockwursts, rostbratwurst and weisswurst. An Oktoberfest board includes a sausage, two soft pretzels, cheese sauce, German mustard, sauerkraut and radi, or German radish that is typically consumed with beer. Apple strudels are available for dessert.
