Watch: 'Overwatch' introduces new character Shion, new season begins June 16

June 9 (UPI) -- Competitive hero shooter Overwatch has unveiled the latest character coming to the game, mob boss Shion of Japan.

Developer Blizzard Entertainment introduced Shion Tuesday in a new animated short that also features the Overwatch hero Sojourn.

Shion is a member of the villainous Hashimoto Clan who dons two red horns on her head. She wears a white suit, uses two pistols and has various robotic enhancements. Shion battles Sojourn in the trailer before making a delivery to the evil Talon group.

Shion comes to Overwatch with the launch of Season 3 on June 16. The new season will also include a new stage set in Japan, costumes and a battle pass.

Shion is the 52nd character added to the free-to-play Overwatch, which was first released in 2016. Shion is a damage character that follows the release of Sierra in April.
