It's Time To Bring Science Into Summer In Abiotic Factor's Upcoming Expansion DLC, Entropic Break
A tropical vacation awaits our distinguished scientists in Abiotic Factor's upcoming DLC Expansion, Entropic Break. This massive update features an entirely new section of GATE Foundation, including a unique facility with tropical isles, wavy seas, and a possible portal to a flesh dimension.
While no exact date has been announced, the DLC is expected to release in Q4 of 2026. Here's what to expect before we depart for an escapade deeper into GATE's weirder facilities.
A Quick Break From The Deep Underground
Back in October 2025, Deep Field Games revealed the future roadmap for Abiotic Factor past the culminating release of the game's 1.0 update, Cold Fusion. While the main story has ‘plausibly' concluded in version 1.0, the facility is ever-changing, with the developers having released several free updates, consisting of new equipment, worlds, farmables, plus a suite of community-requested QoL changes.
An upcoming DLC was also slated for this year's summer season, which is now titled Entropic Break. However, Deep Field moved the release date slightly later into 2026, with the earliest being in October.
Aside from an entire facility's worth of new content, the roadmap also indicates some additions and changes outside of the DLC and is part of the free update. These include boats, brewing systems, and fishing improvements, among others.
Abiotic Factor has captured the hearts of many survival-crafting enthusiasts, as it breaks the mold of what the genre is used to. The game boasts a strong narrative and a futuristic yet claustrophobic setting, reminiscent of well-known sci-fi horror titles such as Half-Life and SCP.
The game is currently available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
