'Queen of Pop' Reaches New Chart Milestone Decades Into Her Career
The Queen of Pop doesn't seem to be ending her reign anytime soon.
Over four decades after kickstarting her legendary career, Madonnacontinues to find success on the music charts, most recently with her newest single, "Love Sensation."
After the new track dropped earlier this month, "Love Sensation" debuted on the Billboard charts this week, adding another impressive achievement to Madonna's history-making resumé.
According to new Billboard standings dated the week of June 20, "Love Sensation" landed at No. 3 on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart, becoming Madonna's 25th song to appear on that chart and twelfth to reach the Top 10.
"Love Sensation" also debuted on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart this week, landing at No. 16.
Madonna's latest chart feat is especially noteworthy, considering her ability to continue churning out chart-topping hits, even over four decades after her career first started.
At the age of 67, Madonna is gearing up for the release of her next album, Confessions II, a sequel to her career-defining 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor.
So far, Madonna has released two other singles from the upcoming album, in addition to "Love Sensation." The first single to release was "I Feel So Free," which hit No. 1 on the Dance Digital Song chart last month. One week later, the news was followed-up by "Bring Your Love," a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, which also ended up at No. 1.
The rest of the album, Confessions II, will be released on July 3.
