Burning Man festival site infested with biting bugs

The site of the annual Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert is overrun by thousands of biting bugs, according to a festival organizer.

"They're everywhere. They bite. They crawl all over you. They get up and in you," the organizer, John Curley, wrote on the festival's official blog.

The festival begins Aug. 30.


Sacramento Bee reporter Ed Fletcher, a veteran of several Burning Man gatherings in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, accepts help from other "burners" to explain the essence of the annual art and counterculture event that pulls tens of thousands of dev
