Texas Tech college football docuseries in the works at Paramount+

June 29 (UPI) -- Paramount+ is developing a new docuseries about the Texas Tech University college football team.

The new series will follow the Texas Tech Red Raiders and its head coach Joey McGuire as the team experiences "one of the most consequential offseasons in the history of the sport."

Hailing from Micah Brown (Coach Prime, Untold: Sign Stealer) and produced by Skydance Sports, the four-episode docuseries will see McGuire attempt to build "a new team identity" during the offseason.

"Texas Tech football has one of the most passionate fanbases in college sports, and this docuseries will give them an unprecedented look at what it takes to build an elite program," Paramount+ head of originals Jane Wiseman said.

"This has proven to be a landscape-altering offseason and we've been lucky to have a front row seat," Skydance Sports SVP of unscripted Greg Groggel added. "The series will present fans and viewers with an unprecedented window into everything that is defining college football today."

The untitled series is expected to premiere on Paramount+ ahead of this year's college football season.
