Frank Condon joins California Stage for 2015 season
California Stage has announced that Frank Condon, former artistic director of River Stage at Cosumnes River College, has joined the company as an associate director for its 2015 season.
California Stage will host two staged readings of “Axis Sally and her Boys,” Condon’s new play with Lynn Damme.
The fact-based story deals with Mildred Gillars, known to American troops as Axis Sally, who was employed by the Third Reich in Nazi Germany as a radio host broadcasting anti-American propaganda during World War II. Gillars was convicted of treason by the United States in March 1949 and served 12 years in federal prison. She was released in 1961.
After the reading, the audience will have a chance to talk with Condon about the play.
California Stage Theater, California Stage, 2 p.m. Feb. 28 and 5 p.m. March 1. $5-$10. (916) 451-5822; www.calstage.org
