Feel the need for speed again: Twitter reacts to confirmation of “Top Gun” sequel
“It’s true.”
Those words gave two television show hosts that lovin’ feelin’ Wednesday. Why? Because it was Tom Cruise’s response when asked if a “Top Gun” sequel was in the works.

The actor who portrayed Pete Mitchell – call sign “Maverick” – in the original film released 31 years ago appeared on “Sunrise,” an Australian morning news show. There, he was asked by anchor Samantha Armytage if the rumors about a sequel were true. Cruise confirmed, much to the delight of Armytage and co-host David Koch.
