London’s The xx brings distinct sound to Sacramento this fall
British indie band The xx is coming to Sacramento.
The trio of guitarist/singer Romy Madley Croft, bassist/singer Oliver Sim and producer Jamie Smith (or Jamie xx) will play at Golden 1 Center on Sept. 26, the arena announced. Tycho, the electronic music project led by Scott Hansen with roots in Sacramento, will appear as a special guest.
Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday. Information about presale tickets for the Sacramento show, which go on sale Thursday morning, is available on the band’s website.
The xx is touring in support of its album “I See You,” its first release in over four years. “I See You” debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 when it was released in January and topped the charts in the U.K., Germany, Australia and other countries.
The band’s self-titled debut album was a sleeper hit upon its release in 2009 and helped establish its intimate electro-pop style. Sacramento will be The xx’s second U.S. stop this fall after spending most of the summer playing music festivals in Europe.
