Sac State’s ambitious annual Festival of the Arts kicks off April 8 with the award-winning musical comedy “Avenue Q” – puppets and all. The five-day festival showcases the creativity of the region through performances, exhibits, lectures and master classes. It concludes April 12 with a Family Sunday Funday on campus. “Avenue Q” continues through April 19 at the University Theatre, $10-$15.

Other festival highlights include a dance performance on the side of a building, an evening street faire in downtown Sacramento and a dance sampler in Solano Hall Dancespace. For details and a schedule of festival events, go to www.csus.edu/al/festival.
