Watch promotional video for Venardos Circus coming to West Sacramento
The circus is coming to town, but this time, without the lions and elephants.
Unlike most other big tops, the Venardos Circus contains no animal acts, instead describing itself as a circus “with the heart of a Broadway show.”
Vernandos Circus will give 16 performances at Vierra Farms in West Sacramento from May 8-19, with a special Mother’s Day offer where moms can attend for free.
However, attendees will likely be familiar with many of the traditional three-ring circus acts the Venardos offers – acrobatics routines, juggling and balancing acts, magic tricks, musical performances and physical feats such as contortion.
“Circus is part of America’s cultural fabric and we want to keep that tradition alive for generations to come,” ringmaster Kevin Venardos said in a news release. “We look forward to bringing our Broadway-style circus show to the Sacramento area!”
The circus formed in 2014 and now its 15-person crew tours across the country, performing in a classic red-and-white tent.
Shows last 90 minutes and circusgoers can show up an hour beforehand to meet the cast.
