Sac State stages culturally rich ‘Flight’

Kenya Hilliard, left, portrays “Ancestral Spirit” and Carla Fleming “Oh Beah” in the current production of “Flight,” which is in its last weekend at University Theatre in Shasta Hall, at CSU Sacramento Charlayne Woodard’s play tells the story of enslaved men and women on a Georgia plantation who present folktales, music, dance and puppetry to ease the fears of a young boy whose mother has been sold.
